While you were sleeping

Sometimes, it is OK to cry about football. At least, that's what Community favorite momluvsfootball says. Mom got those waterworks going this morning while reading Pete Prisco's column about Kevin Everett and Domenik Hixon. It is one of the most emotional stories this season. Find out what other gridiron events have brought momma to tears in In love with the Game, Mom's View.

Footballstu is back, and once again evaluating baseballs best young talents. Today, Stu hits the hot corner, for a look at up-and-coming third basemen. I feel so old. One of the players on this list was born right around the time Vanilla Ice was topping the charts. Stop, collaborate and check out Stu on This.

Unless you sleep about 18 hours a night, you've probably heard that the Twins have finally reached an agreement that would send Johan Santana to the Mets in exchange for prospects. For the Amazins, it sounds almost too good to be true. Of course, Yankee and Red Sox fans are now trying to convince us (and themselves) that they never wanted Santana in the first place. Yeah, sure. DragonRider23 dissects the move, and projects Johan's stats in his Baseball and Football Blog.

Andrew Jones and Joe Torre are enough to get the Dodgers over the top. That's the prediction dbacksfan414 makes in his latest blog. This user even has his own team finishing third in the NL West. I wish there were more unbiased fans out there.

Who's better; Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus? Find out in Spin Out!. This user argues that Eldrick benefits more from a lack of competition and from the era he plays in than he does from his own talent. Great blog vranger, but I think that it's Tiger's talent creating the lack of competition.

If you're a football fan and you haven't caught on to The B-L-O-G- yet, you need to give this a read. T-I-T-A-N-S- has become a mainstay on this list with his Super Bowl knowledge blogs, and in my opinion, today's edition is his best yet. This user has put together a complete catalog of facts concerning Super Bowl MVPs. Do you know what colleges have the most winners? I thought not.

Looking for college hoops? FiddleChips has statistical proof that his ranking analysis is consistently the best in the game. Looking for something more specific? Drpeek2005 uses his very first blog to break down Tennessee's 93-86 win over Alabama last night. Visit The Drs Corner for more.

Don't forget, ratings changes are effective tomorrow. Don't be surprised. You can find everything you need to know in Building CBS Sports.com.

Wow Joe, thanks for the rec...and the pictures to accompany it.  And thanks for  starting the waterworks again with that...lol.  Hopefully we'll continue to keep Everett in our thoughts and prayers as he continues to recover.

I agree with mom. We forget these things far too quickly. However, I'm ecstatic that Everett is doing so much better than initially expected.

I remember watching that game at the local sports bar. The entire place went quiet after that. Suddenly, the score of the game didn't mean that much anymore.

Nice job to both mom and Joe.

While you were sleeping

Maybe I should have titled my blog "Stu is back with a brand new edition"?

By the way, I had that same thought when I saw Villona was born in 1990...  Late 1990 at that.  And could you imagine if you had played Rookie ball as a high school junior?  .485 slugging percentage.  Un-be-lievable.
